Project Description
This is a project being implemented with support from the Open Society Initiative for East Africa (OSIEA). Through the project, UNAPD is at the forefront of leading advocacy campaign of disability inclusion into the on-going government and non-government interventions to mitigate the spread and impacts of the virus to the marginalized populations like PWDs.
The project goal is to
“Up light the Plight of PWDs in the on-going corona virus pandemic in Uganda for inclusive interventions”. The project is being implemented in the districts of Mpigi, Mukono, Bushenyi, Mbale, Soroti, Hoima and Lira
The objectives of the project are: –
- To ensure inclusive or disability specific and practical awareness raising campaigns for corona virus prevention and management
- To ensure inclusive or disability sensitive government measures for prevention of spread of the virus at different levels in the sampled districts.
